If so, get a copy of certificate. If not, find a different contractor!
Some pool contractors rely on subcontractors to finish or complete different parts of your project. Make sure that your pool contractor warrantees all of the work that their subcontractors do. H2o plus use only one subcontractor and that is for our electrical work, we do all of the rest of the work ourselves.
A fence is required around all swimming pools or yards which ever you choose. There are very specific codes for this and must be adhered too in order for you to get your final inspection. There are many fence contractors available for you to choose from. Talk to your contractor and get all of the information that you need to choose the right one. You pool contractor should be very familiar with the local codes and ordinances. H2o plus installs fences for our customers and those prices will be included in your proposal.
There are many different types of construction materials available to use to form and shape your bottom. The most common used is a poolkrete, which is a mixture of vermiculite and Portland cement. H2o plus has found that over the years this material will break down and become spongy or soft if the entire pool bottom is made up of this material. H2o plus uses a special concrete mix design for the floor of your pool. This concrete is placed on the floor and is finished by our concrete finishers. No matter how much water gets under the liner this floor will always remain rigid and tight. However h2o plus has found that the poolkrete is perfect for finishing the slopes of your pool. This process makes for nice clean lines and a neat and uniform finish that will perform for many years to come.
By checking with the BBB you can find out whether or not you contractor is either a member or has any complaints registered against them. You should also as your contractor for at least three different recent references.
It is possible for a homeowner to build their own retaining walls, or even get someone else to build it for them. The problem with this that no contractor will warranty their work if it is sitting on something that they did not build or had built by their subcontractor. If there was a failure in the wall or backfill that could cause structural damage to your new pool.
This is an important question because certain manufactures require certain material be used, if these materials are not used it will void your warranty on your pool walls. H2o plus uses only clean rock as backfill material around your entire pool. This severs two separate but very important parts of your installation. One by backfilling with clean rock you eliminate settling under your pool decks and two, clean rock does not add any more excessive weight bearing on your pool walls. Dirt backfill has a tendency to settle as much as 6 inches over time and also when dirt gets wet the side load is greatly increased. If h2o plus is unable to use the excavated material around your yard it will be hauled away, this is an additional cost to the homeowner but it is included in your original bid.
No matter what kind of project that you are trying to complete, make sure that you receive lien wavers from all of your contractors. This eliminates the possibility that a supplier can come after you as the homeowner if your contractor has not paid their bills or invoices.
The square footage of concrete pool decks varies greatly from contractor to contractor. The average width is 3ft, the minimum required. The minimum width that h2o plus uses is 5ft. h2o plus is also very flexible with the placement of your concrete, for instance if you choose to only have 3ft on one side and make another side 7ft, well we are okay with that too. Remember that it is your pool not ours build it the way you want. If additional concrete is needed or wanted your contractor should have a sq ft price for you. This way you can calculate the exact dollar amount that you need to spend. H2o plus employs concrete finishers. This eliminates another subcontractor.
H2o plus calls for all of the necessary site inspections that are required during the construction process. If our homeowners use other contractors for fences, alarms, gates or additional flatwork. It will be the responsibly of the homeowner to call for final inspections after all of the work is completed.
